Pet Connections

When people move into a long-term care facility, they often leave a beloved pet behind.  This is a devastating separation from their companion.  With Pet Connection, volunteers bring their pets as part of their weekly visits.  Pet visits help pet lovers make connections with people who have not been responsive to other types of interactions.

LITA accepts well behaved pets with basic obedience and commands mastered.  The Canine Good Citizen Test is the guideline to behaviors needed to be a successful Pet Connection friend.

If you would like to volunteer with your pet, Contact Us  to schedule an interview with you and your pet. Please be sure to bring current immunizations.

You may also download these forms and fill in the information prior to the meeting. Reviewing the "Canine Good Citizen Test" will help you with behaviors needed for a successful Pet Connection.

Elsa and I had our personal best at Three Home Village last Wednesday as she sat on 8 different laps!! :-) She is really a pro at this and I so enjoy our visits there. Both Eric and Adam have been most welcoming to us!
