LITA is always looking for dedicated volunteers, both in our One-to-One Friends and Pet Connection Programs. We currently have a need for:
A male volunteer who plays chess and could volunteer in San Rafael. A Cantonese speaking volunteer who could volunteer in Terra Linda.

Lu Sutton School Students describe their experience visiting Atria Tamalpais Seniors:
"I learned that it is good to spend time with the seniors because they need happiness in their lives. I also felt happy because they remind me of my grandparents that I don't get to see a lot."
"I learned that I will be old too and that they need company and friends."
" I saw smiles on their faces and that made me feel I care about them and I will remember them"
Who We Are
Since 1975, LITA Marin has provided friendship and support to the elderly of Marin County, California. As a nonprofit we have more than 300 volunteers of every age that bring a tender heart and a listening ear to long-term care facility residents. LITA establishes friendships for someone who may be alone or does not receive regular visitors.
The mission of LITA is to improve the quality of life for persons living in skilled nursing facilities, residential care facilities, and retirement residences throughout Marin County by providing volunteer visitors. LITA promotes friendships that lessen isolation and loneliness, and increase public awareness of the needs of residents of long-term care facilities. Learn About LITA's Programs
